Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes, we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are unhappy with our products please return them for an exchange or refund. You can return your unwashed, unaltered trousers to PIR Clothing Company at 1602 W Hays, Ste 305, Boise, ID 83702. Please provide us with a brief explanation of your return.
How do I find my right size?
We offer our trousers in even waist sizes 30 through 40. Our trousers run slightly to the larger side. We’ve found by adding a little extra in the waist compensates for any shrinkage and adds comfort. In most cases it is accurate to stick with your true waist size.
Tell me more about the “cut” of PIR trousers?
PIR Cargo Trousers are cut slightly fuller than cargo or khaki trousers you will find in most department stores. Our trousers are cut from original WWII designs and offer many of the features found on the original pants. Our trousers feature “full trouser construction” meaning they can be altered in the seat and waist for a perfect fit. This is a construction feature found mostly on high end dress pants and suit trousers.
What is the correct way to wash my trousers?
Machine wash warm with like colors. Do not bleach them. Tumble dry on low heat and remove promptly. Warm iron if needed. Drying your trousers in a hot dryer will cause them to shrink slightly and fade over time. If you wish to keep your trousers in “like new” condition longer, we suggest you hang dry them.
Do you offer trousers in different lengths?
Currently we only offer our trousers in a 35 inch length. This allows you to have them altered to the exact length you require. The bottoms are “finished” at 35 inches, so if you have a long inseam they may fit without any further alteration. *We are working on a solution to offer shortening as an additional service. Please check back on this website for developments.
The buttons on my “Yarborough” trousers seem loose…what gives?
The “Yarborough” trouser features a button fly, just like the original M1943 uniform design. The buttons will have a small gap between the button and the fabric. That gap causes the button to appear slightly loose. Not to worry, it is supposed to be that way. If the buttons were tight against the fabric, they would fail and come off when stressed. When the trousers are washed, the buttons should tighten and hold securely.
Keep in mind that we produce thousands of pairs of trousers using many thousands of buttons. Occasionally a button will be loose and come off. That happens with all clothing. Should you have a button pop off…sew it back on! If you have a complete button failure, then we will exchange your trousers or offer a refund in accordance with our return policy.

Yes. Please choose the appropriate APO under the “State” and “Shipping method” drop down options. PIR Clothing Company is proud to support our men and women in the armed services.

Can I use PIR Cargo Trousers for historic reenactments?
P.I.R Cargo Trousers are a lifestyle product. They are cut from patterns of WWII US Paratrooper uniforms; however changes have been made to fit the tastes of current consumers. P.I.R Cargo Trousers are not historically accurate in fabric or color therefore they are not recommended for use in historic reenactments.
Do you offer a printed catalog?
We do not currently offer a printed catalog. We have done our best to make our website fully featured in order to give you the best information about our products available. We do offer line sheets for our retail customers.
I’m not comfortable sending my payment information over the internet. Can I pay in some other way?

Our website is secure for payment transactions and we do not retain credit card information after the sale. However, if ordering online just isn’t your bag you can order your trousers via mail, phone, or fax. Call our service line at 208 424-0498 or fax us at 208 345-6201.
